This retro kitsch kitchen mixed modern practicality with a playful 1950s diner feel. Blue cabinets, yellow details, classic chequered flooring, plants, and artwork turned a narrow kitchen into a bright, characterful space that still worked properly day to day. It was proof that bold interior design (very occasionally) does not always need to scream! Sometimes it can be cheerful, functional, personal and quietly refusing to be beige. Photos by Jon Rowley
